Connecting GetYourGuide Growth+This feature requires the Growth+ plan or higher
This guide walks you through connecting your GetYourGuide supplier account to EquipDash. Once connected, GetYourGuide can pull your availability and send bookings directly into EquipDash.
You don't need API credentials to receive bookings from GetYourGuide. Just click Connect -- inbound bookings will work straight away. Credentials are only needed if you want EquipDash to push availability updates back to GetYourGuide proactively, and you can add them later anytime.
Step 1: Connect in EquipDash
- Go to Settings > API & Integrations.
- Click the GetYourGuide tab.
- Click Connect to GetYourGuide.
- Fill in the connection form:
- GetYourGuide Supplier ID -- your supplier ID from the GYG portal (optional but recommended)
- Supplier Name -- your business name as it appears on GetYourGuide (optional)
- (Optional) Expand Add outbound API credentials to enter your API Username and API Password -- only needed if you want EquipDash to push availability changes back to GYG. Skip this for now if you don't have credentials yet.
- Click Connect.
That's it. As soon as the connection is saved, every active experience in your account is automatically exposed to GetYourGuide. There is no per-experience setup.
Step 2 (Optional): Get and Add Your API Credentials Later
If you want to enable outbound push (EquipDash notifying GetYourGuide when availability changes), you'll need API credentials from GetYourGuide.
- Log in to the GetYourGuide Supplier Portal.
- Navigate to your API Settings page.
- Note down your API Username and API Password.
- Back in EquipDash, click Connect to GetYourGuide again to update the connection with the credentials.
If you don't see API settings in your supplier portal, contact GetYourGuide support to request API access for your account.
Step 3: Test the Connection (only with outbound credentials)
The Test Connection button checks that your outbound API credentials work. If you connected without credentials, you can skip this step -- inbound bookings don't use those credentials.
- On the GetYourGuide settings page, click Test Connection.
- If the test is successful, you'll see a confirmation message.
- If the test fails, check the Troubleshooting section below.
After Connecting
Once connected, you'll see your connection status with:
- Supplier ID -- your GetYourGuide supplier ID
- Connected since -- when the connection was established
- Last synced -- the most recent sync activity
To finish setup:
- Map your rate categories so GetYourGuide ticket types (Adult, Child, etc.) match your EquipDash rate categories.
- Confirm sync settings are enabled.
See Configuring GetYourGuide for the full setup.
Disconnecting
If you need to disconnect your GetYourGuide account:
- Go to Settings > API & Integrations > GetYourGuide.
- Click Disconnect.
- Read the confirmation message and click Confirm Disconnect.
Disconnecting will:
- Stop receiving new bookings from GetYourGuide
- Stop pushing availability updates to GetYourGuide
- Keep all existing bookings and data in both systems
You can reconnect at any time using the same steps above.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Authentication failed | Double-check your API username and password. Make sure you're using the API credentials, not your portal login. |
| Test connection failed | Verify your API credentials are correct and that your GetYourGuide account has API access enabled. Contact GYG support if the issue persists. |
| Connection timeout | This is usually a temporary issue. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it continues, check that GetYourGuide's API service is operational. |
| Supplier ID not recognised | Ensure you're entering the correct Supplier ID from your GetYourGuide dashboard. This field is optional -- try connecting without it first. |
