About Cranmore Mountain Resort
Cranmore Mountain Resort has been a North Conway landmark since local businessman Harvey Gibson opened the slopes for the 1937–38 season, making it one of the oldest continuously operating ski areas in New England. The resort's full-service rental shop at the base lodge stocks alpine ski and snowboard packages for every ability level, from first-timers to advanced carvers, and their ski school uses the Terrain Based Learning™ method — a proven approach that lets beginners progress quickly by focusing on fun, purpose-built terrain features rather than traditional drills on open trails.
In the warmer months Cranmore transforms into a lift-served mountain-bike park with more than six miles of purpose-built trails designed for all ability levels, and a fleet of recreation and trail bikes is available to rent on-site. The resort's Mountain Adventure Park adds ziplines, a giant swing, a climbing wall, and a mountain coaster to the summer lineup, while New Hampshire's number-one-rated snow tubing park extends the fun through the winter for non-skiers in the group. Between the rental shop, the ski school, and the adventure activities, Cranmore is designed so that every member of a family or group has something to do.
Located at 239 Skimobile Road — named after the resort's famous original lift system — Cranmore sits just minutes from North Conway village, making it the most convenient ski area for visitors staying in town. Legendary Austrian ski pioneer Hannes Schneider directed the ski school here beginning in 1939, and that commitment to quality instruction endures today with dedicated learning terrain and programs ranging from KidsRule mountain camps to adult clinics. For families who want a complete resort experience with rentals, lessons, and activities all in one place, Cranmore is the Mount Washington Valley's most accessible option.
