About Natural Bridge Caverns
Natural Bridge Caverns is the largest commercial cave system in Texas, located between San Antonio and New Braunfels off Interstate 35. Discovered in 1960 by four college students from St. Mary's University, the caverns have been open to the public since 1964 and attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to explore their massive underground chambers and stunning limestone formations.
Beyond the cave tours, Natural Bridge Caverns has expanded into a full adventure destination with their Twisted Trails outdoor course — a six-story-tall aerial challenge featuring 685 feet of suspended tracks, balance elements, and seven zip rails that soar between platforms at various heights. They also offer the AMAZEn' Ranch Roundup outdoor maze, gem and fossil mining, and a smaller Twisted Trails Tykes course for younger adventurers under four feet tall. Cave tours range from the family-friendly Discovery Tour to the more rugged Hidden Passages Tour that goes deeper into the system.
The combination of underground cave exploration and above-ground adventure activities makes Natural Bridge Caverns a rare two-in-one attraction for the Hill Country. The caverns maintain a constant 70-degree temperature year-round, making them a welcome escape from Texas summer heat. The Twisted Trails course and zip rails add an adrenaline component that appeals to older kids and adults looking for more than a walking tour.
