About Barlow Adventures
Barlow Adventures puts you behind the wheel of a late-model Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon so you can explore Sedona's backcountry trails at your own pace. Their fleet of top-of-the-line JLUR models comes equipped with automatic transmissions, climate control, heated seats and steering wheel, and Apple CarPlay — a far cry from the stripped-down rental Jeeps you might find elsewhere. Every vehicle is modified to handle the full range of Sedona's off-road terrain, from easy scenic routes to more adventurous rock-crawling trails.
Before you head out, the Barlow team walks you through a thorough orientation covering 4x4 driving techniques, trail etiquette, and vehicle operation. You receive detailed trail maps with GPS waypoints and personalised route recommendations based on your experience level and how much time you have. Jeeps are permitted on all open easy, moderate, and adventurous Sedona trails, so you have the freedom to string together your own itinerary — from Broken Arrow and Soldier Pass to the more remote Dry Creek and Schnebly Hill roads.
The self-guided format makes Barlow Adventures a popular choice for families and groups who want the thrill of off-roading without the fixed schedule of a guided tour. You can stop for photos whenever a view catches your eye, linger at a trailhead for a short hike, or simply cruise the red rock roads at whatever pace suits your group. Located on West Highway 89A, the shop is easy to find and offers flexible half-day and full-day rental windows.
