About Eagle Point Sport Fishing
Eagle Point Sport Fishing is a father-and-son charter operation based out of the Tahoe Keys Marina in South Lake Tahoe. Captains Dennis and James Mitchell run two purpose-built fishing boats — a 24-foot Northriver and a 26-foot Seaswirl Striper — targeting Lake Tahoe's prized mackinaw (lake trout), rainbow trout, and brown trout year-round.
They offer half-day and full-day charters for up to six passengers per boat, with all tackle, bait, and gear provided. Both captains are fully USCG licensed, California Fish and Wildlife permitted, and insured through the California Department of Boating and Waterways. Morning trips typically focus on trolling for mackinaw in deeper water, while afternoon trips can target rainbows and browns closer to shore. They also run scenic lake tours for groups who want to enjoy the water without fishing.
What distinguishes Eagle Point from the larger fleet operations on the south shore is the personal touch of a family business. You are fishing with the owners, not rotating crew. Dennis has decades of experience reading Tahoe's moods, and James grew up on these waters. Their consistent catch rates and five-star reviews on TripAdvisor reflect that expertise — they know where the fish are in every season.
