About Olympiaworld Innsbruck
Olympiaworld Innsbruck is the multi-venue sports complex built around the legendary Olympic bobsled, luge, and skeleton track in Igls, just fifteen minutes south of Innsbruck city centre. The track hosted sliding events at both the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics and remains an active World Cup and Four Hills Tournament venue, but it is also open to the public for adrenaline-fuelled guest rides year-round.
The headline experience is Bob Rafting — up to five guests pile into a specially designed rubber bob and hurtle down the 1,270-metre ice track at speeds reaching 90 kilometres per hour, banking through 14 curves including the iconic Kreisel spiral. For those wanting even more speed, professional racing bobsled rides reach 115 km/h on the full 1,399-metre course. Summer visitors can try the Summer Bob — a wheeled sled on rails — plus guided tours of the track facilities. All experiences are suitable for ages 10 and up.
What makes Olympiaworld unique is the chance to ride a genuine Olympic competition track, not a tourist replica. The facilities are maintained to international racing standards, and the professional pilots who steer the racing bobs are former competitive athletes. Combined with the panoramic mountain setting above the Inn Valley, it is one of Innsbruck's most unforgettable experiences.
