About Hartley's Crocodile Adventures
Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is one of Tropical North Queensland's most iconic wildlife attractions, set across more than 10 hectares of natural lagoon and rainforest habitat on the Captain Cook Highway between Cairns and Port Douglas. The park has been educating and entertaining visitors since the 1930s, making it one of the longest-running crocodile-focused wildlife experiences in Australia.
The park features a full day of wildlife presentations and immersive experiences, including the famous Crocodile Attack Show, guided boat cruises on Hartley's Lagoon to spot saltwater crocodiles in their natural environment, snake shows, cassowary feeding sessions, and a koala photo experience. Guests can hold a baby croc, feed wild birds, and explore the landscaped boardwalks through the surrounding wetlands and tropical gardens.
What makes Hartley's stand out is its focus on conservation and education — the park plays an active role in crocodile research and habitat protection. Its location between Cairns and Port Douglas means it's easily combined with a day trip to either destination, and the sheer diversity of wildlife encounters under one roof makes it a must-visit for families and nature enthusiasts alike.
