About Rouge et Diable
Rouge et Diable specialises in self-guided canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard descents on two of the Laurentians' most beautiful rivers — the Diable and the Rouge. Operating from the Base de Plein Air Mont-Tremblant on Rue Léonard, they are one of the only outfitters in the region to offer access to both waterways, giving paddlers a choice between calm, meandering floats and livelier routes punctuated by Class 1 rapids. Every package bundles shuttle transport, watercraft, paddles, life jackets, and safety gear so guests can focus entirely on the scenery.
Four distinct trip options cover a wide range of abilities and time commitments. La Tranquille is a gentle five-kilometre paddle on flat water, perfect for young families or first-timers. The Expedition stretches to eight kilometres with splashy Class 1 rapids that add excitement without requiring advanced skills. For experienced paddlers, the eighteen-kilometre Odyssey is a five- to six-hour journey through remote forest stretches with multiple rapid sections. A Rouge River option — a twelve-kilometre canoe-only route near Labelle — is available for larger groups of thirty or more, offering a quieter alternative away from the more popular Diable corridor.
A maximum of sixteen participants per departure ensures the river stays uncrowded and peaceful, a deliberate choice that sets Rouge et Diable apart from higher-volume outfitters. Dogs are welcome on most trips, and separate child pricing makes family outings more affordable. Sandy beaches along both rivers provide natural rest stops for picnics and swimming. Open from late June through late August, Rouge et Diable combines thoughtful trip design with small-group departures to deliver one of the most relaxed and scenic paddling experiences in the Mont-Tremblant area.
