Zipline & Aerial Adventure

Zipline & Aerial Adventure Park Waiver Template

Ziplines and aerial courses combine height, speed, and harness-dependent safety systems, so a clear waiver and a documented briefing are central to your risk management. Weight and health limits also matter — they are a safety control, not just paperwork. Use the template below and have it reviewed for your state, noting that a few states restrict recreational waivers heavily.

Not legal advice. These templates and summaries are general information for tour and rental operators, not legal advice, and do not create an attorney–client relationship. Waiver law varies by state and changes over time. Before you rely on any waiver, have it reviewed by a licensed attorney in the state where you operate.

What your Zipline & Aerial Adventure waiver must cover

  • The inherent risks of zipline and aerial activities — falls from height, harness and equipment failure, collisions, and braking impacts.
  • Weight, height, and health limits, and the rider's confirmation they meet them.
  • A mandatory safety-briefing and harness-check acknowledgement.
  • A duty to follow guide instructions and the braking procedure.
  • A release and assumption-of-risk section in plain language.
  • Parent or guardian signature for under-18s, where recognized.

The clauses that matter

Weight & health limits

These are safety controls. Have the participant confirm they are within limits and free of conditions (heart, pregnancy, recent surgery) that make the course unsafe.

Briefing & follow-instructions

Record that the participant received the briefing and agrees to follow guide instructions and the braking procedure.

Harness & equipment

Acknowledge that the participant must keep the harness on as fitted and not adjust the safety system themselves.

Inherent risk of height

Spell out falls from height and equipment-dependence specifically — generic language is weaker for a high-consequence activity.
