About Baleal Surf Camp
Founded in 1993 as one of Portugal's first surf camps, Baleal Surf Camp sits on the Peniche peninsula just down the coast from Nazaré and remains one of the best-loved surf schools on Europe's Atlantic seaboard. Its long track record shows in a slick operation built around daily lessons, guiding and a sociable camp community.
The school is positioned beside the reliable beach breaks of Cantinho da Baía, a spot renowned for consistent, beginner-friendly waves, which makes it ideal for learners while still offering plenty for improvers. Instructors run graded groups so students progress at the right pace across single lessons or full-week packages.
Accommodation, coaching and equipment come bundled into camp stays, and board and wetsuit hire is available for independent surfers.
