About Blanket Glacier Chalet
Blanket Glacier Chalet is a remote backcountry lodge accessible only by helicopter, perched in the Monashee Mountains south of Revelstoke at an elevation of around 1,900 metres. The chalet operates as a guided backcountry ski lodge in winter and a hiking and mountaineering base in summer, offering an immersive wilderness experience far removed from roads, cell service, and crowds. It is one of the few helicopter-accessed backcountry lodges in the Revelstoke region.
Winter guests are flown in for multi-day stays — typically four to seven nights — with daily guided ski touring through alpine bowls, glacier runs, and old-growth tree skiing in the surrounding Monashee terrain. The lodge provides all technical equipment including touring skis, skins, avalanche transceivers, probes, and shovels, along with meals prepared by an on-site cook. In summer the chalet hosts mountaineering courses, glacier travel workshops, and guided alpine hiking trips, with gear like crampons, ice axes, and harnesses available for guest use.
What makes Blanket Glacier Chalet extraordinary is the combination of genuine remoteness, spectacular glaciated terrain, and the comfort of a well-appointed alpine lodge with hot showers, a sauna, and family-style meals. The guiding team holds ACMG certification and knows every couloir and glacier in the tenure. For experienced backcountry skiers and mountaineers seeking a true wilderness immersion — or for intermediates ready to step up with professional guidance — Blanket Glacier is among the most rewarding backcountry lodge experiences in British Columbia.
