Dania Beach Adventures is the outfitter inside Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, the barrier-island preserve between Port Everglades and Dania Beach just south of Fort Lauderdale. From its base at the park, the operation rents kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and pontoon boats for exploring one of the last undeveloped stretches of coastline in Broward County.
The signature experience is paddling Whiskey Creek, a sheltered mangrove-lined waterway that threads the length of the park parallel to the ocean. The creek is calm enough for first-time paddlers and rich enough in wildlife to hold anyone's attention — herons stalking the shallows, rays gliding over the sand flats, and manatees drifting through in the cooler months. Pontoon rentals open the same waters to families and groups who would rather cruise than paddle, and the park's beach side offers a quiet alternative to the busier sands up the coast.
Because the concession sits inside a state park, the setting stays protected: no jet ski traffic in the creek, no development on the banks, and easy parking steps from the launch. For a nature-first day on the water within fifteen minutes of Fort Lauderdale's cruise port and airport, this is the closest thing to Old Florida left in the area.
