About Electric Bike Rotorua
Electric Bike Rotorua is a dedicated e-bike rental and retail operation with two locations — the main base at Tryon Street beside the Whakarewarewa Forest trails, and a city centre pickup on Fenton Street. They carry a fleet of mountain e-bikes, explorer e-bikes, and kids' e-bikes, giving visitors powered-up access to Rotorua's world-class trail network without needing to bring their own gear.
Rentals include full-suspension e-MTBs for the Whakarewarewa Forest singletrack, plus more relaxed explorer models for the lakefront and town. They also offer the Whaka E-Bike Trail, a purpose-built geothermal e-bike route through Whakarewarewa — The Living Maori Village, combining cycling with cultural and geothermal sightseeing. Half-day, full-day, and multi-day hire periods are available, and all bikes come with helmets, locks, and trail maps.
The Tryon Street location is the real draw — it's right at the trailhead of the Redwoods, so you can be riding singletrack within minutes of picking up your bike. For riders who want the Rotorua mountain biking experience but don't have the legs for 200km of trails under their own power, an e-MTB changes the equation completely. The geothermal e-bike trail through the Maori village is a genuinely unique route you won't find anywhere else in the country.
