About Freediving Coron – The Barracuda Club
Freediving Coron, also known as The Barracuda Club for Freedivers, has been teaching breath-hold diving in Coron since 2016 and is one of the highest-rated freediving schools in the Philippines. It is founded and led by MJ Paula, one of the deepest Filipina freedivers and a national record holder.
The school is unusual in teaching across all three major systems, PADI, Apnea Total and Molchanovs, with a course ladder from one-day Discover Freediving through two-day Freediver and three-day Advanced certifications up to multi-week Master internships. Coaching dives, water-confidence programmes and swimming lessons are also offered.
Training happens in the calm, current-free waters of Barracuda Lake and nearby lagoons, with extras such as mermaiding, freediving with yoga, underwater photography and equipment rentals for those who want more than a certification.
