About Kolo Bike Park
Kolo Bike Park is a purpose-built mountain bike park in Asheville that offers a lift-served downhill experience without the long drive to a ski resort. Located just minutes from downtown, the park features professionally designed trails ranging from beginner flow tracks to advanced jump lines and technical descents, all accessed via an uplift shuttle service.
Kolo rents full-suspension downhill bikes, trail bikes, and protective gear including full-face helmets, knee pads, and body armor. Their rental fleet is kept in top condition with regular maintenance, and staff fit each rider with the right size bike and gear. For beginners, they offer skills clinics and private coaching sessions to build confidence before hitting the steeper trails.
What makes Kolo unique in the Asheville area is the gravity-focused format — you ride down, the shuttle takes you back up, and you do it again. It eliminates the grueling climbs that can make mountain biking intimidating for newcomers while still delivering legitimate singletrack riding. The park has quickly become a gathering spot for Asheville's cycling community, hosting races, demo events, and after-work ride sessions throughout the season.
