About Mountainsurf Interlaken
Mountainsurf Interlaken is a lakeside watersports centre on the shores of Lake Thun in Neuhaus, roughly ten minutes by bus from central Interlaken. The centre hires out kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, pedalos, and motorboats directly from a private beach, giving visitors instant access to the calm, turquoise waters of one of Switzerland's most scenic lakes.
Rentals are available by the hour or half-day, with no licence required for pedalos, kayaks, or SUPs. Motorboat hire requires a Swiss boating permit, and staff can advise on regulations for foreign visitors. The sheltered bay at Neuhaus is ideal for beginners — the water is flat and shallow near shore, with dramatic views of the Niesen pyramid and Stockhorn range across the lake. SUP yoga sessions and guided sunset paddles are offered on selected dates through the summer season.
