About Ohau Snow Fields

Ohau Snow Fields is a family-run ski field above Lake Ohau, run with Lake Ohau Lodge at 2295 Lake Ohau Road. The field is 9.6 km up an unsealed road from the lodge, and a bus leaves the lodge daily at 9:15am.

The rental shop has 220 sets of mostly Salomon skis and boots and 40 Burton snowboards, plus jacket, pants and helmet hire, and the lodge hires snow chains. The Snow School runs group and private lessons and the Mountain Goats kids' program, and lessons are not pre-booked.

Lifts are one double chair, a platter and a snow mat. The 2026 season closed on 4 October.
