About Rhythm Japan
Rhythm Japan is Niseko's largest and most recognised ski and snowboard rental operation, headquartered in the heart of Hirafu village with additional locations across the Niseko United resort area. Founded by a group of Australian ski enthusiasts who fell in love with Hokkaido's legendary powder snow, Rhythm has grown from a small rental shop into a full-service winter sports hub that caters to the steady stream of international visitors who flock to Niseko each season. Their flagship Hirafu store spans multiple floors and is impossible to miss on the main village street.
The rental fleet is one of the most extensive in Japan, featuring premium equipment from brands like Burton, Salomon, Rossignol, and K2 that is refreshed each season. They offer everything from beginner packages to high-performance demo skis and splitboards, with professional boot fitting using heated moulding technology. Beyond equipment hire, Rhythm runs a retail shop stocking outerwear, accessories, and technical gear, plus a repair and tuning workshop. They also offer backcountry touring equipment rentals — skins, beacons, probes, and shovels — for the growing number of visitors exploring Niseko's legendary sidecountry and backcountry terrain.
What sets Rhythm apart in the Niseko market is their deep understanding of international visitors' needs. Staff are multilingual, the booking system is fully online, and they offer overnight ski storage so you don't have to lug gear back to your accommodation. Their convenient location means you can walk out the door and be on the Hirafu gondola within minutes. Rhythm also operates a summer bike rental service as Niseko increasingly positions itself as a year-round destination, with mountain bikes and e-bikes available for exploring the trails and roads around Mount Yotei.
