Skookum Cycle & Ski is a year-round bike and ski shop that has been serving the Revelstoke community from its First Street location for years. The name — borrowed from the Chinook trade language word meaning strong and powerful — reflects the shop's focus on high-performance gear for riders and skiers who take their mountain pursuits seriously. Skookum is equally at home fitting a pair of touring bindings as it is dialling in suspension on an enduro bike.
In winter the rental wall fills with alpine ski and snowboard packages alongside a well-curated selection of backcountry touring setups — skis with climbing skins, splitboards, avalanche transceivers, probes, and shovels. Summer swaps the snow gear for a fleet of full-suspension mountain bikes, ranging from trail-oriented 130mm travel bikes to burlier enduro rigs built for the steep descents of Mount Macpherson and Boulder Mountain. The workshop handles everything from basic tune-ups to full suspension rebuilds and race-day prep.
