About Swiss Alpine Guides
Swiss Alpine Guides is a professional mountain guide school based in Matten bei Interlaken, offering year-round guiding and instruction across the full spectrum of alpine disciplines. Their IFMGA-certified guides lead rock climbing, ice climbing, via ferrata, glacier trekking, mountaineering, ski touring, and heliskiing programmes throughout the Bernese Oberland and beyond.
Summer highlights include daily via ferrata outings on the famous Mürren Klettersteig, multi-day glacier eco-treks crossing the Aletsch region, and single-pitch rock climbing courses on the limestone walls above Interlaken. In winter the focus shifts to avalanche safety courses, backcountry ski touring, freeride guiding, snowshoe treks, and helicopter skiing from Lauterbrunnen. Equipment rental — boots, harnesses, ice axes, crampons — is available directly through the school.
With decades of guiding experience and an impeccable safety record, Swiss Alpine Guides is the natural choice for visitors who want to move beyond the valley floor and explore the high mountains responsibly. Their programmes cater to all levels, from first-time climbers to experienced alpinists seeking a summit partner, and group sizes are kept small to ensure personalised instruction and safety.
