About Tasman Island Cruises
Tasman Island Cruises operates adrenaline-fuelled wilderness boat adventures along the Tasman Peninsula — home to Australia's highest sea cliffs and some of the most dramatic coastal scenery on the planet. Departing from Port Arthur, their three-hour cruises take passengers along sheer dolerite cliffs that tower up to 300 metres above the Southern Ocean, past sea caves, blowholes, waterfalls, and rock formations millions of years in the making.
The custom-built yellow boats are designed for Tasmanian conditions — stable in open ocean swells yet nimble enough to enter sea caves and get close to cliff faces for photography. Wildlife is abundant — Australian fur seal colonies, dolphins, migrating humpback and southern right whales (in season), white-bellied sea eagles, and vast seabird colonies including albatross and gannets. The crew provides expert commentary on geology, history, and marine ecology throughout.
Tasman Island Cruises has earned a string of tourism awards for good reason — the sheer scale and drama of the Tasman Peninsula coastline is genuinely world-class, often compared to Norway's fjords and New Zealand's Milford Sound. The experience of looking up at 300-metre cliffs from sea level while seals play in the wash is unforgettable and truly unique to Tasmania.
