About The Remarkables
The Remarkables is an NZSki ski area 24 km from Queenstown, about 45 minutes from town. The access road is sealed for the first stretch and unsealed for the last few kilometers, and drivers must carry chains at all times.
The base is at 1,610 m and the peak at 1,943 m, giving 468 m of vertical and 449 ha across three north-facing bowls. Three high-speed six-seater chairs, a quad chair and four conveyors serve terrain that splits 30% beginner, 40% intermediate and 30% advanced. Sugar Bowl holds the Remarks Parks, including the only Burton Stash in the Southern Hemisphere.
The base building has rentals, a snow shop, a workshop, lockers, a restaurant and a cafe. Group lessons start at age 4, and the NZSki Superpass and 3 Peak Pass also cover Coronet Peak and Mt Hutt.
