WHY OPERATORS SWITCH
Peek Pro has strong AI and waivers. The move usually isn't about missing features — it's about cost, payout reliability, and payment gateway control.
At $3k+/mo revenue, Peek Pro's ~8–10% effective rate crosses EquipDash's $23/mo + 2% breakeven. Every booking above that is money back.
Multiple public reviews cite unexpected holds after migrating to Peek Payments — one reviewer reported ~$16k held for 3+ weeks. If you've been bitten by this, gateway choice becomes non-negotiable.
Peek Pro has no CMMS or asset-maintenance module. If your business relies on bikes, boats, kayaks, or any asset that needs service history, this gap becomes a spreadsheet over time.
Trustpilot reviews consistently cite 48+ hour ticket response and AI chatbot deflection before reaching a human. If support is blocking day-to-day operations, moving platforms is rational.
BEFORE YOU START
Do these three things first. They prevent the most common migration problems.
STEP BY STEP
Each step assumes the previous one is complete. Run sequentially.
Peek Pro exports from the dashboard under Reports → Exports. Waiver content lives in Peek Waivers — export those separately as PDF or CSV. Reviews come from the Reviews module.
Pull these CSVs, in this order:
Peek Pro column names don't match EquipDash import templates. Download templates (Settings → Import) and remap:
Keep original Peek Pro CSVs untouched — they're your rollback snapshot.
Import in this order: Products → Customers → Open bookings. Historical bookings import as notes on customer records — not as bookings (EquipDash treats switch date as day zero).
The payment-gateway swap is the biggest change. You're moving from Peek Payments (in-house) to your choice of Stripe or alternative on EquipDash. Plan this carefully.
For one week, take new bookings in EquipDash while Peek Pro fulfils anything already booked there. Keep Peek Pro's read access open for 60 days for reconciliation.
AFTER MIGRATING
Peek Pro has strong AI and waivers. What EquipDash gives you is cost predictability, payout reliability, gateway freedom, and equipment maintenance — the things that quietly compound over time.
HONEST WARNINGS
We'd rather tell you up front than have you discover it day three.
Get a written outstanding-balance statement from Peek Payments before switching. This is the #1 cause of migration stress — don't skip it.
Reviews you've earned on Peek.com's consumer marketplace stay there. New reviews on EquipDash route to TripAdvisor, Yelp, or Google. You lose Peek Marketplace distribution visibility.
Cards saved on Peek Payments don't transfer to a new Stripe account. Returning customers re-enter card details on next booking. Send a friendly "we've upgraded" email.
Historical bookings import as notes on customer records, not as EquipDash bookings. Analytics starts fresh from cutover date — export your Peek reports before cancelling.
Copy Peek email templates to a doc before cutover. EquipDash's template editor uses different variables — ~1 hour per template to adapt.
We don't offer paid migration. This guide is what we'd tell you on a call. If you hit a block, email support — but we won't run the migration for you.
