About Altus Mountain Guides
Altus Mountain Guides is a Squamish-based guiding company offering a full menu of alpine adventures across the Coast Mountains and the Sea to Sky Corridor. Staffed by professionally certified mountain guides, Altus covers the technical end of the outdoor spectrum — the kind of terrain that rewards real training and local judgment. From their downtown Squamish base they run trips throughout the year, switching seamlessly between rock season and snow season.
Their programs include guided mountaineering, alpine and rock climbing, glacier travel, backcountry ski touring and splitboarding, and avalanche skills training (AST 1 and AST 2). Custom multi-day expeditions and private guiding round out the offering, letting clients tackle objectives like the Tantalus Range, alpine summits and classic ski tours with an expert leading the way. Instruction is a core part of the business, so courses are built to leave participants more capable and self-sufficient, not just ticked off a list.
Altus stands out for the breadth of its certified guiding and its commitment to teaching sound mountain craft. Squamish sits at the doorstep of serious alpine terrain, and Altus is one of the operators best positioned to take people into it safely. Whether someone is chasing their first summit, learning to read avalanche conditions, or planning a backcountry traverse, Altus brings the credentials and the local knowledge to make it happen.
