About Apex Mountain Resort
Apex Mountain Resort is the ski hill closest to Penticton, located in the mountains west of town at 324 Strayhorse Road. The resort is known for dry, light powder, with about 500 cm of snowfall in a typical season, and more than 2,000 feet of skiable vertical on northeast-facing slopes.
Lift service includes a high-speed quad, a triple chair, and a magic carpet for beginners. A full rental shop on site outfits skiers and snowboarders, and Apex Snow School offers certified instruction for every level, from first-timers to advanced riders. Off the slopes, the resort has a tube park, a shinny pond, and a 2 km skating loop through the forest, plus night skiing on select evenings. The village has restaurants, a bar, a coffee shop, a general store, and a ski and board shop. The season typically runs from early December into April.
Apex has a reputation as an uncrowded, family-friendly mountain with serious terrain for experts. Having rentals, lessons, and non-ski activities in one compact village makes it easy for mixed groups to spend a full day on the hill, then drive back down to Penticton for the evening.
