About ASO Mammoth
ASO Mammoth — short for Adventure Sports Outpost — is a year-round gear hub on Old Mammoth Road that covers everything from ski and snowboard rentals in winter to mountain bikes, e-bikes, paddleboards, and fishing tackle once the snow melts. Their in-house technicians handle tuning, waxing, and repairs, and the shop stocks a wide selection of apparel and accessories for every season in the Eastern Sierra.
The winter rental fleet at ASO spans entry-level sport packages through high-performance demo setups, with current-season skis from brands like Rossignol, Salomon, and Atomic available for riders who want to test the latest technology on Mammoth Mountain's varied terrain. Snowboard packages cover freestyle, all-mountain, and powder-specific boards, and all rental equipment is maintained to a rigorous standard between each use. Junior packages are available in a full range of sizes, making ASO a solid family stop where everyone can gear up in one visit.
Come summer, ASO transforms into one of Mammoth's busiest outfitters for warm-weather adventure. Their mountain bike fleet includes hardtails and full-suspension rigs suited to the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park and the network of singletrack trails threading through the Inyo National Forest. E-bikes open up longer backcountry routes for riders who want to cover more ground, and paddleboard rentals let visitors explore the calm waters of Crowley Lake, Lake Mary, and the June Lake Loop. Fishing gear rounds out the selection — rods, reels, tackle, and local knowledge about where the trout are biting in the Eastern Sierra's legendary waters. Whether you are chasing powder in January or pedalling ridgeline trails in August, ASO Mammoth has the gear and expertise to match the season.
