Bates Bikes is Marquette's dedicated electric-bike outfitter, located on Presque Isle Avenue near the trails and lakeshore paths that make the city one of the Midwest's premier riding destinations. Founded in 2020, the shop has quickly become the Upper Peninsula's go-to source for e-bike rentals, sales, and service, as well as one of the region's few MoonBike operators.
The rental fleet includes 20-plus e-bikes from brands like Aventon, Velowave, AIMA, Velotric, and Lectric, available by the hour, half day, or full day — ideal for cruising Marquette's waterfront bike path or reaching trailheads with ease. In winter, Bates rents MoonBikes, compact electric snowbikes that handle trails, mountains, and icy terrain, and offers guided MoonBike tours for a completely different way to explore the snowy UP backcountry.
