About Marquette Mountain Resort
Marquette Mountain Resort is the Upper Peninsula's largest downhill ski area, perched on the shore of Lake Superior just south of downtown Marquette along M-553. A true four-season adventure hub, the resort has served Yooper skiers and riders for decades and has expanded into a summer destination for mountain biking, lift-served trails, and guided Lake Superior kayak tours.
In winter, the rental shop stocks a deep inventory of ski and snowboard gear, from stable beginner packages to premium Elan Ripstick setups for expert performance, with full-day, night-only, and seasonal rental options. Come summer, the resort rents mountain bikes for its network of gravity and cross-country trails and runs expert-guided half-day tandem sea kayak tours that explore the Marquette shoreline, complete with shuttle service, safety briefing, and paddling instruction.
What sets Marquette Mountain apart is the sheer breadth of terrain and activities under one roof, plus a genuinely local, welcoming atmosphere. Its slopeside lodge, ski school, and lesson programs make it the anchor of the region's winter scene, while the summer bike and paddle offerings keep the mountain busy year-round.
