About Big Bear Pirate Ship
The Big Bear Pirate Ship — the Time Bandit — is a one-of-a-kind attraction on Big Bear Lake: a 47-foot replica pirate galleon that runs swashbuckling themed cruises from Holloway's Marina. Complete with cannons, a costumed crew, and a sense of theater, it turns an ordinary lake tour into an interactive adventure that delights kids and grown-ups alike.
The crew runs family-friendly daytime voyages where young buccaneers can join in the fun, as well as adults-only sunset cruises that lean into the pirate theme with a more relaxed, grown-up vibe. Cruises typically run around 90 minutes, with cannon fire, storytelling, and plenty of photo moments against the backdrop of the surrounding mountains. The whole ship can also be chartered privately for birthdays, corporate outings, and special celebrations.
It is the lake's most distinctive way to get on the water — equal parts boat tour and live entertainment. Tickets are sold per person for scheduled sailings, and the novelty of cruising Big Bear aboard a genuine pirate ship has made the Time Bandit a bucket-list stop for repeat visitors and first-timers looking for something beyond a standard sightseeing cruise.
