About Bridger Bowl
Bridger Bowl is Bozeman's beloved community ski area, located just 16 miles north of downtown in the Bridger Mountains. Operated as a non-profit since 1955, the mountain has long been the training ground for generations of Montana skiers and snowboarders, offering everything from gentle beginner slopes to some of the most challenging inbounds terrain in North America. The Ridge — Bridger's famous above-treeline zone — draws expert skiers from across the country with its steep chutes, cliff bands, and consistently deep dry powder.
The mountain features 2,000 acres of skiable terrain served by eight lifts, including the Schlasman's high-speed quad that accesses the upper mountain. Rental packages cover skis, snowboards, boots, and poles for all ages, with a full-service rental shop at the base lodge. Bridger also operates a respected ski school offering group and private lessons for beginners through advanced skiers, plus dedicated children's programs. Season passes and day tickets remain remarkably affordable compared to destination resorts, a point of pride for the local community.
What sets Bridger Bowl apart is its non-profit structure, which keeps prices low and reinvests revenue into mountain improvements rather than shareholder returns. The snow quality is exceptional — Bridger consistently receives over 350 inches of cold, dry powder annually. For visitors to Bozeman looking for an authentic Montana ski experience without resort-town prices, Bridger Bowl delivers world-class terrain with a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere.
