About Clearwater Fly Fishing Guides
Clearwater Fly Fishing Guides is the Snowy Mountains' premier guided fly fishing service, led by Craig Daly who has been guiding anglers through the region's pristine waterways for over 25 years. Operating across the fast-flowing Thredbo River and the still, glassy waters of Lake Jindabyne, Craig holds certification as a Fly Casting Instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers and is a licensed National Parks and Wildlife Service tour operator.
Sessions cater to all skill levels, from complete beginners learning their first cast to advanced anglers seeking trophy brown and rainbow trout. All equipment is provided including quality rods, reels, flies, waders, and polarised glasses. Craig tailors each trip to conditions and client ability, teaching the art of loading the rod, casting, mending line, and reading water in a relaxed, patient environment.
What sets Clearwater apart is Craig's intimate knowledge of the Kosciuszko National Park waterways built over decades of daily guiding. He knows precisely where fish hold in each season, which hatches are active, and how to read the subtle changes in current that put anglers onto fish consistently. Whether wading the Thredbo River or drifting Lake Jindabyne from a boat, a day with Clearwater is an education in alpine fly fishing.
