About Currumbin Valley Scenic Horse Trail Rides
Currumbin Valley Scenic Horse Trail Rides is a family-run horse riding operation set in the lush hinterland just 20 minutes northwest of Coolangatta Airport. Nestled in the Currumbin Valley — one of the Gold Coast's most picturesque rural pockets — the property backs onto subtropical rainforest and rolling farmland, offering a peaceful contrast to the busy coastal strip.
Two-hour guided trail rides take riders through bushland tracks, open paddocks, and creek crossings, with well-trained horses suited to all experience levels from complete beginners to confident riders. Before setting off, guests receive a ground lesson covering mounting, steering, and stopping, so even first-timers feel comfortable in the saddle. After the ride, traditional billy tea and damper are served campfire-style. Private lessons, kids' lead rides, school holiday programs, and moonlit evening rides are available on request.
What sets Currumbin Valley apart from the larger commercial horse riding operations is the intimate, unhurried atmosphere. Group sizes are kept small, the property is family-owned and operated, and the emphasis is on enjoying the natural beauty of the valley rather than rushing through a tick-box activity. They also offer Equine Assisted Learning programs focused on personal development through horse interaction.
