About Extremo Sur Rafting & Kayak
Extremo Sur is Patagonia's most experienced whitewater outfitter, running rafting and kayak expeditions out of San Carlos de Bariloche since 1991. Based at Las Piedras 632 in town with an exclusive riverside base camp overlooking the Cerro Ventisquero glacier, they have guided more than three decades of trips on the region's classic Andean rivers.
Their core offering is whitewater rafting on the Río Manso — from gentle scenic floats to the demanding Class IV Manso a la Frontera run that crosses into Chile — as well as descents on the Río Limay. They also run stand-up rafting adventures, guided kayak trips, and professional training courses in swiftwater rescue, wilderness first aid, and kayaking technique. Trips cater to first-timers and experienced paddlers alike, with bilingual guides and all equipment provided.
