Launceston's Gorge Scenic Chairlift runs across Cataract Gorge and First Basin from its main station near the Gorge car park at 69 Basin Road, West Launceston.
The chairlift opened in 1972 and covers 457 m between stations, with a central span of 308 m that it calls the longest single span of any chairlift in the world. The ride across takes about ten minutes, and it opens daily from 9am.
