About Kaslo Kayaking
Kaslo Kayaking has been getting paddlers onto Kootenay Lake since 2000, operating from the historic lakeside village of Kaslo on the lake's north arm within the Nelson Kootenay Lake region. What began with six boats and a passion for fun has grown into a full paddling outfitter and adventure retail store, the Kaslo Adventure Centre, that anchors the town's waterfront scene.
The company offers guided kayak tours, lessons and a large rental fleet of sea kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards, available by the hour, day or longer with delivery options. Their beginner-friendly ethos — "no experience necessary" — makes them a welcoming choice for newcomers, while their knowledge of Kootenay Lake's shoreline, beaches and glassy morning water rewards more experienced paddlers too.
Beyond paddling, the Adventure Centre stocks clothing, gear and accessories, and the team helps visitors book other regional experiences like fishing charters and caving. Two decades of local operation and a genuine love of introducing people to the sport make Kaslo Kayaking a standout on Kootenay Lake.
