About Kelley Girl Charters
Kelley Girl Charters is a family-run deep sea fishing operation docked at Capt. Anderson's Marina on the Grand Lagoon, where Captain Mark Kelley has fished these waters for more than 35 years alongside Captain Carson Kelley. The fleet centers on two big, comfortable boats — the 52-foot Kelley Girl and the 55-foot Lady Kelley — each carrying up to 20 passengers with air conditioning and restrooms aboard, a meaningful upgrade over the open center-consoles common in the charter fleet.
Trips scale from four-hour family outings to 12-hour offshore marathons. Shorter runs target snapper, trigger fish, and grouper on the nearshore reefs and wrecks, while longer days push out to deeper bottom structure and add trolling for king mackerel, mahi-mahi, and wahoo. Shark trips and private group charters for corporate events and bachelor parties round out the calendar, and the crew handles bait, tackle, rigging, and cleaning the catch.
The larger boats matter most in summer, when afternoon chop turns small-boat trips uncomfortable — extra beam means a drier, steadier ride and room for mixed groups of serious anglers and along-for-the-ride family members. Decades of local bottom numbers and a consistent record through red snapper season keep repeat bookings high, so summer dates fill early.
