Kootenay Backcountry Guides has guided in the West Kootenays from its Nelson base at 395 Baker Street since 2017. Its guides are ACMG certified.
In winter it runs guided ski touring and splitboarding, Avalanche Skills Training courses, rescue courses and lodge-based touring trips, including traverses in the Rockies. In summer it guides mountain bike tours, day hikes and multi-day backpacking trips. Trips and courses are booked online.
