About Little Ski Hill
Little Ski Hill has been a McCall skiing tradition since 1937, making it one of Idaho's oldest continuously operating ski areas. Operated by the Payette Lakes Ski Club, this community-owned hill sits just three miles from downtown and serves as the affordable, no-frills alternative to Brundage Mountain — perfect for families, beginners, and locals who want to get a few runs in after work without the drive or the price tag.
The hill features 405 vertical feet of T-bar-accessed terrain with groomed runs, a terrain park, and night skiing under lights seven evenings a week during peak season. Adjacent Bear Basin Nordic Center adds 25 kilometres of groomed classic and skate trails through beautiful forest terrain, making this a two-sport venue for cross-country enthusiasts as well. The ski club offers affordable season passes, lesson series for all ages, and a welcoming lodge with hot chocolate and a roaring fire.
Little Ski Hill's charm lies in its community spirit — this is where McCall kids learn to ski, where locals gather for Friday night laps under the lights, and where visiting families discover that a great ski experience doesn't require a $200 lift ticket. The combination of alpine skiing, night skiing, and Nordic trails at one affordable price point makes it a unique gem in Idaho's ski landscape.
