About Mt Dobson Ski Area
Mt Dobson is a family-owned ski area reached by an access road off State Highway 8 between Fairlie and Lake Tekapo, with its car park at 1725 m.
Its on-mountain Rental Shop holds more than 150 sets of skis and 40 snowboards, plus some clothing. The Dobo Snowsports School runs group and private lessons, youth programs and race training, and the ski area runs the Foote Rest Cafe.
In 2026 it opened on 3 July and ran a shuttle bus with a pickup in Fairlie on weekends and school holidays.
