About Puget Sound Express
Puget Sound Express is a family-owned whale watching company that has been introducing visitors to the marine life of the Salish Sea for four generations. Their Port Angeles operation departs from the downtown waterfront on East Railroad Avenue, putting guests within easy reach of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the surrounding waters that funnel whales, porpoises, and seabirds past the Olympic Peninsula.
From Port Angeles the company runs half-day whale watching tours aboard fast, comfortable vessels, venturing toward the San Juan Islands and the Strait to find orcas, humpback whales, minke whales, and other wildlife. Trips typically run three to four hours with naturalists on board to narrate sightings, and the schedule shifts through the season with mid-morning, afternoon, and midday departures. Onboard amenities and experienced captains make the outing accessible for families and first-time whale watchers alike.
With decades on the water and a reputation for high sighting success rates, Puget Sound Express has become one of the most trusted whale watching names on the peninsula. Their multi-generational crews know the local currents and feeding grounds intimately, and their homemade berry pies served on board have become a signature part of the experience that keeps guests coming back.
