Rim Cyclery is Moab's oldest bike shop, established in 1983 by Robin and Bill Groff during the earliest days of desert mountain biking — long before Moab became the globally recognised riding destination it is today. This family-owned shop has been a constant presence through the entire evolution of the sport in the region, from the first exploratory rides on the Slickrock Trail to the development of the extensive trail network that now draws riders from around the world.
The rental fleet features full-suspension trail bikes built to handle Moab's demanding terrain, where sandstone slickrock, loose sand, and rocky technical sections are the norm rather than the exception. E-mountain bikes are also available for riders who want pedal assistance on the longer, more climbing-intensive routes that characterise much of the riding around Moab. Every rental bike is meticulously maintained and set up with appropriate tire pressure and suspension settings for the local conditions — details that make a meaningful difference on desert trails.
The full-service repair bay is staffed by experienced mechanics who can handle everything from quick brake bleeds and derailleur adjustments to complete wheel builds and suspension overhauls. For riders who have brought their own bikes to Moab, this is an invaluable resource — desert conditions can be hard on equipment, and having access to a competent shop can save a trip. The retail section stocks parts, accessories, tubes, tires, and riding gear.
