About Rimrock Adventures
Rimrock Adventures is Fruita's long-standing river and horseback outfitter, set on the banks of the Colorado River at 927 Highway 340, just below the Colorado National Monument. A local guiding, shuttle and rental company, Rimrock matches visitors to the right trip whether they want a mellow float, a splashy whitewater run or a horseback ride into protected canyon country. It is one of the most complete adventure operators in the Grand Valley.
On the water, Rimrock runs 1.5-hour, half-day, full-day and multi-day raft trips, from gentle scenic floats suitable for families to lively whitewater sections through the red rock canyons of the Colorado, Gunnison and Dolores rivers. They also rent rafts, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and equipment for self-guided paddlers, and provide river shuttle services. On land, their guided horseback rides head into the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area and the federally protected Little Bookcliffs Wild Horse Range, where riders can spot wild mustangs.
With decades of experience and a base right on the river, Rimrock is known for flexible trip options and easygoing, knowledgeable guides. The mix of rafting, paddling rentals and horseback riding under one roof makes it easy to build a multi-day itinerary, and the scenery — towering monument cliffs above the Colorado River — is hard to beat anywhere in western Colorado.
