About Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing
Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing is one of British Columbia's most storied heli-ski operators, running guided helicopter skiing and snowboarding trips deep into the Selkirk and Monashee mountain ranges surrounding Revelstoke. Founded in 1975, the operation was among the first to recognise the extraordinary potential of the Interior BC snowpack — consistently deep, dry, and plentiful — and has been delivering backcountry powder experiences for nearly five decades.
Guests are flown by helicopter to remote alpine bowls, glacier faces, and old-growth tree runs that would otherwise take days of touring to reach. Packages range from single-day introductory trips to multi-day all-inclusive lodge stays at their Durrand Glacier Chalet, a high-alpine base perched at 2,200 metres. All trips include certified mountain guides, avalanche safety equipment, fat powder skis or splitboards, and a thorough safety briefing before the first flight. Group sizes are kept small to maximise vertical and personalise the terrain selection for each party's ability level.
What distinguishes Selkirk Tangiers is the sheer scale of their tenure — over 300,000 hectares of permitted terrain spanning two major mountain ranges — and a safety record built across nearly 50 seasons. The combination of massive terrain variety, consistent cold-smoke powder, and an experienced guide team makes this one of the premier heli-ski operations anywhere in the world, attracting repeat clients from across North America, Europe, and Japan.
