About Snorkel Alaska
Snorkel Alaska has run its Mountain Point Snorkeling Adventure in Ketchikan since 2001, offering one of the most unexpected and memorable experiences in Southeast Alaska — snorkelling in the cool, clear waters of the Inside Passage. Located a few miles from downtown, the company turns the idea of cold-water snorkelling into an accessible, guided adventure suitable for first-timers and families.
Every tour includes roundtrip transportation, a thick 7mm wetsuit with hood, gloves and boots, all snorkelling gear, and expert instruction from certified guides. Guests wade in from a protected beach to explore a vibrant underwater world of orange and purple sea stars, giant sunflower stars, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, anemones and schooling fish. After the swim, hot showers, cocoa, tea, coffee and water help everyone warm up.
What makes Snorkel Alaska stand out is its niche expertise and thorough approach to keeping guests warm, safe and confident in the water. The guides double as marine naturalists, explaining the ecology of the intertidal zone as guests float above it. It is a genuinely unique bucket-list activity that consistently earns high marks from cruise passengers and independent travellers alike.
