About Soaring Colorado
Soaring Colorado operates what is widely regarded as the largest zipline course in the United States — a 27-span aerial adventure set on 180 private acres deep in the San Juan National Forest. Accessible only by private train from Durango, the experience is unlike anything else in Colorado: guests ride in luxurious railcars along the Animas River before arriving at the remote forest canopy course that crosses the river on 10 different ziplines.
The full experience spans approximately 5.5 hours and includes a four-course gourmet lunch served in the trees, a naturalist-led ecology tour, and ziplines ranging from 56 feet to an exhilarating 1,400 feet in length. Soaring uses a patented no-braking system where each guest arrives at receiving platforms at a controlled, consistent speed — eliminating the self-braking required on most other courses. The season runs mid-May through mid-October.
What makes Soaring Colorado truly exceptional is the combination of luxury and wilderness. The private train ride, gourmet dining, and remote location create an all-day premium adventure that feels worlds away from typical zipline parks. It regularly earns top ratings as one of the best zipline experiences in North America and attracts visitors specifically to Durango for the experience.
