About Telluride Sports
Telluride Sports traces its roots back to 1972, when Bill Hedger opened Olympic Sports on Main Street and laid the foundation for what would become the town's most established ski and bike operation. Expanded through the late seventies and eighties by owners Mike and Jane Conlin and Sam Siegel, the business now operates five strategically placed locations across Mountain Village and downtown Telluride — at Camel's Garden, Cimarron Lodge, Franz Klammer Lodge, Gondola Plaza, and The Peaks Resort — ensuring there's always a shop within easy reach no matter where you're staying.
During winter, the Gondola Plaza store serves as the primary hub for premium ski and snowboard rentals, with demo and performance packages featuring current-season equipment from leading manufacturers. Expert technicians provide custom boot fitting and precision tuning at every location, and the base-of-Chair-7 outpost specialises in quick slopeside rentals and same-day repairs so you spend less time in the shop and more time on the mountain. Junior packages and multi-day discounts make the operation especially popular with families visiting Telluride Ski Resort.
When the snow melts, Telluride Sports pivots to high-performance mountain bike rentals and servicing, with the Camel's Garden location — right next to the free gondola — acting as a year-round outdoor adventure starting point for trail riders heading into the surrounding San Juan Mountains. The Franz Klammer Lodge shop adds a luxury retail element, carrying high-end apparel alongside sales and rental equipment, rounding out a five-decade legacy of outfitting visitors for every season in Telluride.
