About Via Ferrata Cornwall
Via Ferrata Cornwall is South England's only full via ferrata experience, set in a historic quarry tucked away between Falmouth and Penryn. The site combines iron-rung cliff climbing, high-wire bridges, zip lines, and rope challenges into a single adventure route that takes participants across dramatic rock faces and over flooded quarry pools — bringing an Alpine-style adventure to the Cornish countryside.
The main via ferrata route guides climbers up cliff faces using fixed iron rungs and steel cables, crossing suspension bridges and aerial challenges before zipping back down on a series of wire rides. A dedicated Zip Wire Safari sends visitors soaring through the quarry on multiple zip lines. The site also offers coasteering, rock climbing, archery, and stand-up paddleboarding on the quarry lake, making it a genuine multi-activity centre. Minimum age is 10 for most activities, and no prior experience is needed.
Beyond the activities, the quarry site itself is a draw — nature trails wind through regenerated woodland, there is a wild play area for younger children, and the on-site cafe serves food and drinks. The sheltered inland location means it's a reliable wet-weather alternative when beach-based activities get cancelled, and the combination of climbing, zipping, and water activities in one venue makes it ideal for group days out.
