About Aqua Adventures
Aqua Adventures has been San Diego's go-to specialty watersports outfitter since 2000, operating from a prime dock-side location at the south end of the Mission Bay jetty on Quivira Way. Originally founded by Greg Knight and five-star BCU instructor Jen Kleck, the business became veteran-owned in 2017 when U.S. Army veteran Craig Seering and his wife Ashleigh Conaway took the helm. Their rental fleet covers virtually every paddle-powered craft on the water — single and tandem kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, surfskis, outrigger canoes, hydro bikes, and even a giant multi-person Megalodon SUP for groups.
What sets Aqua Adventures apart is their deep commitment to instruction and community. Structured classes range from introductory kayak and SUP lessons to SUP yoga sessions and guided wildlife kayaking tours through the marina, where harbour seals are a regular sight. Their popular Paddle With Your Pup programme welcomes dogs on the water with complimentary canine PFDs, and the on-site Aquarius Bar and Grille serves tacos, margaritas, and live music so paddlers can refuel without leaving the property.
Beyond recreational rentals, Aqua Adventures supports adaptive paddling for veterans through Team River Runner, partners with the San Diego River Park Foundation for kayak cleanup excursions, and hosts youth programmes with the YMCA, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts. Their retail shop stocks boards and boats from Perception, Epic, Sunova, and Focus SUP Hawaii, making it easy to demo gear before purchasing. For anyone looking to explore Mission Bay's twenty-plus miles of coastline — or venture out into the open ocean — Aqua Adventures provides the equipment, the expertise, and the waterfront atmosphere to make it happen.
