About Arizona Nordic Village
Arizona Nordic Village is the state's premier cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat biking destination, nestled in the Coconino National Forest 16 miles north of Flagstaff on Highway 180. Sitting at 8,000 feet elevation on the western flank of the San Francisco Peaks, the village receives reliable snowfall from mid-November through mid-April.
The facility maintains over 40 kilometres of groomed trails for classic and skate-style cross-country skiing, plus 15 kilometres of dedicated snowshoe trails. All trails are colour-coded by difficulty from beginner green to advanced black. The rental shop stocks skis, poles, boots, snowshoes, sleds, and fat bikes, and group lessons in both classic and skate skiing are offered on weekends.
Beyond day use, Arizona Nordic Village operates off-grid yurts, cabins, and a Ponderosa Suite for overnight stays, all of which are dog-friendly. Adventure yurts require a ski or snowshoe in during winter, adding a backcountry flavour to the experience. In summer, the trail network converts to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.
