About Aruba Kitesurfing School
Aruba Kitesurfing School has been teaching people to ride the wind since 2002, making them one of the longest-running kite schools in the Caribbean. Run by a local Aruban family, the school is based at the Fisherman's Huts — a flat-water paradise with steady 15-25 knot trade winds almost year-round and shallow, sandy-bottom conditions perfect for learning.
Lessons range from introductory tandem kite sessions and beginner courses covering safety, body dragging, and board starts through to advanced coaching for riders looking to nail jumps and transitions. They carry Slingshot and Nobile equipment, with rental gear available for certified kiters who want to ride independently. Private and semi-private lesson formats keep the student-to-instructor ratio low.
With over two decades of local experience, AKS knows the wind patterns and tidal shifts at Fisherman's Huts better than anyone. Their instructors hold IKO certifications and emphasize safety in the water, making the school a strong fit for families and solo travelers who want a structured, confidence-building introduction to kitesurfing in ideal conditions.
